A surprisingly interesting read

In view of the way things have gone so far, with you know who, I recommend reading the book below, before you get too much older.  We live in interesting times, it would seem, and bearing in mind this was written by Daphne du Maurier in 1972, it makes for interesting reading.
Enjoy.  I did, once I was nearing the end and realised that it was all going to be OK!  Quite a sobering read actually, in between the funny bits.

    If not, I think you will find it fascinating, not least as there is an anti-Trump demonstration taking place in Falmouth as I write this. (Yes, who would have thought? But hooray for Falmouth!)

    I could do with some cheering thoughts so will pop to the library who have a good Cornish author section. I wasn't aware of the event in Falmouth tonight, but have just checked it out.     I have so many of Daphne du Maurier's books, but not that one - so I've just bought it on Amazon! It sounds like an interesting read - thanks for the tip.
    Incidentally, you seem to have lost your 'Follower' button again???

      Hmmm, don't know how the follower button has gone walkabout! Thanks for letting me know. I am very untechy so probably won't be able to work it out, but never mind! Hope you enjoy the du Maurier book. It was funny and sobering at the same time, and if read during these peculiar times, a bit unnerving, to be honest! Never say never!!!! Have a good weekend. Bright and blustery with rain in the air here today.

Early morning light

There have been some cracking early morning skies this week.  The sunrise has generated a strong rose gold light which has been picked up not only in the clouds but also through the silver-white grasses around the edge of the golf course. I always marvel at the clouds.  Constantly changing, formations that have never been seen before, never to be seen again.

Coastal walk from Gullane to North Berwick

By the time I have walked about four miles, my toes are screaming at me - it's the arthritis, you see.  One of the joys of being that little bit older than I was.  However, for a long time, I have been keen to walk along the beaches, and follow the coastal path, between Gullane and North Berwick. So, having worked out the tide times, I decided today was the day, and off we went. Below is our starting point, the bay at Gullane.  It's a lovely beach, very popular with dog walkers. This is looking east, the direction Tilly and I were going to take. Looking back, up the Forth, the unmistakable bulk of Arthur's Seat, and Edinburgh's skyline, just clear enough to see. For most of the walk, there is the choice between wandering along a series of beaches, or following a path along the top of each.
