Monday walk

This morning Mr Gaucho dropped the dogs and me along the coast for us to walk home.  Here are some of the lovely things we saw on the way.  
A desert of lapwings!
A Small Copper butterfly
 And a parcel of oystercatchers 
 with an interloper in the form of a curlew!
Not too far away, across the water, Edinburgh was rocking with festival goers and all sorts of crazy creative stuff going on.  We walked in warm sunshine with the sound of gentle waves running in as the tide turned and wafts of rugosa roses and salty ozone.  Lovely!

There have been some cracking early morning skies this week.  The sunrise has generated a strong rose gold light which has been picked up not only in the clouds but also through the silver-white grasses around the edge of the golf course. I always marvel at the clouds.  Constantly changing, formations that have never been seen before, never to be seen again.

(Not) in a vase on Monday!

The challenge this week, set by Cathy at  https://ramblinginthegarden.wordpress.com to celebrate five years of In a Vase on Monday, was to offer (Not) in a vase on Monday!  So here is my interpretation of that idea with one of my Plant Belles, which I tend to use for things I find and enjoy.  I weave bits and pieces through the metal ribs and keep them until they fall apart, or something even better turns up!  Lichen covered twigs, branches of larch with tiny cones, seed heads, twisted heather stems, anything and everything that has form and beauty.
