As we lurch towards the end of the old year, and Christmas looms large, I was thrilled to spot fresh new buds in the hedgerows this week. They brought such promise and hope that I thought, with the world as it is at the moment, my vase this week would serve as a reminder that all is not lost!!
All looking ahead, sharp green points of flowering red currant, shiny, sticky buds of horse chestnut, and hazel catkins, mixed in with fragrant clusters of tiny pink viburnam flowers.

We can always rely on the plant world to demonstrate and affirm that life is a wonderful thing!
