A romantic 'vase' on Monday

Valentine's Day is a few days away so I thought it would be a good theme for today's vase.  However, it's pretty obvious from my photos that I haven't used a vase!  Instead I have fashioned a branch of silver birch into a heart shape, attached some cuspidata moss and studded it with the delicate, romantic blossoms from one of our little winter-flowering ornamental cherry trees.
I hope all UK INAVOMers are keeping dry and safe in this vile wet and windy weather.

      Thank you Cathy. The silver birch hearts are fun to make, and you can use them for all sorts of occasions! I hope your garden is surviving this disgusting weather. Our garden is currently rather white following a slushy snow blizzard this afternoon. Horrid! A

    That is beautiful and you can keep it and add other things. I've been planning to make a similar heart, I'm sure I will find plenty of twigs on our 'lawn' blown down in the last 2 days.

      I am sure there will be plenty of material out there Alison! You are right, the silver birch hearts are useful for other times, and especially good at Christmas with holly etc stuck into the moss wadding! A

(Not) in a vase on Monday!

The challenge this week, set by Cathy at  https://ramblinginthegarden.wordpress.com to celebrate five years of In a Vase on Monday, was to offer (Not) in a vase on Monday!  So here is my interpretation of that idea with one of my Plant Belles, which I tend to use for things I find and enjoy.  I weave bits and pieces through the metal ribs and keep them until they fall apart, or something even better turns up!  Lichen covered twigs, branches of larch with tiny cones, seed heads, twisted heather stems, anything and everything that has form and beauty.
