As my daughter prepared for her wedding on Friday afternoon, I enjoyed the view from her hotel suite in Edinburgh. With a 180 degree panorama over the rooftops of Edinburgh, it was too good an opportunity to miss, and I took a few photos. St Giles Cathedral on the Royal Mile, the series of towering white cranes working on the new St James Quarter behind John Lewis, the broad dome of McEwan Hall in Bristo Square, to the view across to the Salisbury Crags and Arthur's Seat, and North Berwick Law twenty five miles away to the east, it was a privileged view of a beautiful city.
Welcome to the running wave, which I set up as a vehicle for my photographs, with some observational chat and occasionally a little writing. I hope you enjoy the things I enjoy, sharing my walks with Tilly and Ted, and other excursions I have from time to time.
