I have had quite a few walks through the grounds of Gosford House during May. The dogs and I have walked in wind, rain, but mostly sunshine. Gosford is the most relaxing place to walk that I can think of! Green, tranquil, peaceful, full of birdsong, reflections, pools of water and pools of light, cool woodland, flowers and shadows, and very few people! Here is a series of photographs taken throughout May, starting with the girls who lay the eggs we enjoy for breakfast every Sunday morning!

What glorious photos, Amanda - you have a good eye...
ReplyDeleteThank you Cathy, and thank you for looking at this post! I sometimes feel as though I am talking to myself, except on Mondays of course!! Gosford House and grounds, near Aberlady, are just over five miles away. There are no formal gardens now, (if there ever were, not sure) but a lake and lily pond, the usual 18th century follies, urns and some quite elaborate stonework in various parts of the grounds. There are a lot of water birds, grey lag geese, herons, a couple of stately swans, mallards, moorhens - all the usual culprits, living in the most magnificent surroundings! The woods are lovely too and have been so cool and delicious to walk in during these very warm days. There are usually a few people around but really not many! Social distancing is absolutely no problem here, which is why I try and walk there as often as I can, rather than closer to home! A
