February Sunday afternoon walk

It has been a beautiful sunny day today, with very little wind.  Before the Siberian beast (described this evening by the weather forecast as being 'brutally cold' - can't wait) blows through during the next few days, bringing its chill factor with it, the dogs and I went for a lovely walk along a grassy path which skirts the golf courses of Kilspindie and Craigielaw, just outside Aberlady.  We came back through woodland.  

 On the golf courses alongside us, there were lots of people on a good walk spoilt (Churchill's words, not mine, although I do concur) but we concentrated on the views to the north, across the Firth of Forth to Fife, to the east with North Berwick law sitting faintly on the horizon, and to the west where Arthur's Seat and Edinburgh were just about visible against the bright winter sun.

    A great picture of a curlew amongst many others, it must be lovely to see so much more with a proper camera. What digital camera would you recommend for a beginner? x

      Hi A, thank you for your lovely message - as always! You are very generous about my photos, but I can assure you that I don't use a complicated camera. Wouldn't know where to start! I use a Lumix Panasonic DMC-TZ60. You can adjust the settings but I'm afraid that is all beyond me and I just point and squirt! The settings I use are automatic. Intelligent Auto, or choose a variety of the options from the Scenic settings. You can do all that just as well as me! Simples!!! A x

    The first photo looks like an entirely different planet...very Dr Who. The last few of the woods look like paintings...very clever camera work A.

Possibly the last post and a sizzlingly hot vase on Monday

The border in our tiny garden is in an in-between phase at the moment and not very colourful, but elsewhere there are pops of high summer colour and I have brought them together in my vase today. The running wave uses Blogger as it's vehicle and they are changing the way a post is created but unfortunately I cannot make the new format work. I can't progress beyond the title! I cannot navigate to the main body of the post to create text. The new template has no prompts for adding photos, weblinks, to format the text, change font etc. It may be my old MacBook that's as fault but I can't do anything about that!! Are any other IAVOM bloggers who use Blogger having the same problems? I have tried, three times, to contact Blogger through their 'Help' prompt and received no feedback or contact whatsoever. This post is using the old 'Legacy' format, which no longer permits any kind of formatting of text, and so after four attempts I have finally manage...

Early morning light

There have been some cracking early morning skies this week.  The sunrise has generated a strong rose gold light which has been picked up not only in the clouds but also through the silver-white grasses around the edge of the golf course. I always marvel at the clouds.  Constantly changing, formations that have never been seen before, never to be seen again.
