Armistice Day 2018

What a blessed relief this day, 100 years ago, must have been.  After four years of unimaginable horror, all our families will have breathed a massive sigh of relief and started to look to the future again.  Tragically, the 'war to end all wars' wasn't.  Have we learnt anything in the last one hundred years?  From the state of the world today, sadly I don't think we have.

To commemorate this special day I have a white poppy of peace, because hope springs eternal, and Truth and Love always overcome in the end.

There have been some cracking early morning skies this week.  The sunrise has generated a strong rose gold light which has been picked up not only in the clouds but also through the silver-white grasses around the edge of the golf course. I always marvel at the clouds.  Constantly changing, formations that have never been seen before, never to be seen again.

(Not) in a vase on Monday!

The challenge this week, set by Cathy at  https://ramblinginthegarden.wordpress.com to celebrate five years of In a Vase on Monday, was to offer (Not) in a vase on Monday!  So here is my interpretation of that idea with one of my Plant Belles, which I tend to use for things I find and enjoy.  I weave bits and pieces through the metal ribs and keep them until they fall apart, or something even better turns up!  Lichen covered twigs, branches of larch with tiny cones, seed heads, twisted heather stems, anything and everything that has form and beauty.
