A magnificent vase on Monday!

I have missed a couple of weeks of a vase on Monday.  I have been in hospital with flu and associated nasties, but now I am back!  My brother and his wife brought me a magnificent bouquet of flowers and as this last weekend has been beyond busy with my daughter's wedding, I haven't had time to produce a vase of my own, and frankly, why would I when I have this fabulous collection of flowers sitting on the dining table!

Enjoy - I am!

  3. Gosh, Amanda, if you were hospitalised it must have hit you badly - so pleased to hear you are back home and hope you feel well enough for all the wedding preparations and excitement. What a gorgeous bouquet you were given and what fun you will have had working out what was in it - some inspired choices, and I especially love that pretty speckled delphinium (at least that's what I think it is). Thanks for sharing it

    1. Thanks Cathy. The wedding weekend was fabulous, so all is well! The tall speckled flower is clary, or clary sage (Salvia sclarea), absolutely lovely! There are various peonies, apricot coloured stock, white campanula, white lace flower (Orlaya grandiflora), alstroemeria, and white valarian. All very delicious - lucky me! A

  4. I'm glad to hear that you recovered from that nasty flu in time to enjoy your daughter's wedding, Amanda. The gift bouquet is beautiful and well worth showing off. The Salvia is spectacular, as are the peonies.

    1. Thanks Kris. It has been a bit of a roller coaster ride but I made it to the wedding and it was glorious! Might show off some of those flowers next week! Definitely worth re-visiting! A
