From left to right, Eglantyne, Lichfield Angel, and Gentle Hermione. I think only roses could have such romantic names! I picked this trio before the cold north winds blew through, worried that my planned vase might not happen if left until Sunday afternoon. The vase is a Georgian cut glass pedestal bowl that my mother used for the trifle at Christmas when I was a child!
The roses are so beautiful I am just going to leave it there! I hope you enjoy these gorgeous beauties as much as I do!

Roses sure do grow better on your side of the ocean than ours. I could only dream of having any so lovely as yours. I suppose our climate is too extreme with to many mood swings, where you are more moderate with plenty of rain. I could get lost in the folds of those blooms. They are everything romantic and lovingly lush.
ReplyDeleteThank you Cindy! I have never considered being lucky when it comes to growing roses, but you are right - we are lucky! This is such a sumptuous time of year when these beauties come out and not only look gorgeous but smell delicious too! I can't even part with the petals when they finally drop! My kitchen worktop is currently strewn with rose petals, drying out before going in a bowl!
DeleteSoft colors, romantic feel and heirloom bowl. Couldn't be lovelier Amanda!
ReplyDeleteThank you Susie! I've been looking forward to this vase for a long time! A
DeleteOh these are glorious roses, Amanda - I sometimes think I should count just how many petals there in some of my fullest ones! The bowl is a perfect receptacle for roses, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteThank you Cathy. I must say rose time in the garden is my favourite! I take far too many photos! They are all so exquisite! A
DeleteI can only but wish to have such a glorious collection of roses, Amanda! I've never had anything but limited success with roses, whether that's the fault of my sandy soil, limited irrigation (and rain), or simply inattention, I'm not sure.
ReplyDeleteThe roses are very special, but you have such an incredible array of flowers in your wonderful garden, most of which I wouldn't be able to grow here! I am so glad you have enjoyed these! A
DeleteAbsolutely luscious!
ReplyDeleteThey are aren't they! I think I might do a separate post, just with pictures of my roses at the moment! I can't stop taking photos of them! A
DeleteBeautiful combination! Sally x
