Then and now!

Do you remember this?
That was on 24 April and I was wondering, at the time, how it would look later in the year.  Well, now is as good a time as any to have a look.
The fields are being harvested at the moment and I expect this one will get the chop sooner rather than later, and then the view will re-emerge!  That's what I love about the countryside - it is always changing.  

 This photo shows the same field from another side.
It is a very beautiful barley crop with wonderful colours running through it before it is completely ripe and golden.  It's a sort of green gold at the moment.

There have been some cracking early morning skies this week.  The sunrise has generated a strong rose gold light which has been picked up not only in the clouds but also through the silver-white grasses around the edge of the golf course. I always marvel at the clouds.  Constantly changing, formations that have never been seen before, never to be seen again.

(Not) in a vase on Monday!

The challenge this week, set by Cathy at  https://ramblinginthegarden.wordpress.com to celebrate five years of In a Vase on Monday, was to offer (Not) in a vase on Monday!  So here is my interpretation of that idea with one of my Plant Belles, which I tend to use for things I find and enjoy.  I weave bits and pieces through the metal ribs and keep them until they fall apart, or something even better turns up!  Lichen covered twigs, branches of larch with tiny cones, seed heads, twisted heather stems, anything and everything that has form and beauty.
