The call of the waves

It's been far too long since I (and the running wave) visited my favourite beach so yesterday afternoon's walk was very welcome.  In the company of my daughter and her six children (two in papooses) we walked a good length of the beach.  It was almost high tide so half the beach was out of reach, but there was still a good stretch to cover.
This is the best spot.  This is my elected place to spend eternity.  On top of the dune, with the waves breaking below and the wind through the marram grass and sea buckthorn - where could be better?

Early morning light

There have been some cracking early morning skies this week.  The sunrise has generated a strong rose gold light which has been picked up not only in the clouds but also through the silver-white grasses around the edge of the golf course. I always marvel at the clouds.  Constantly changing, formations that have never been seen before, never to be seen again.

In a vase on Monday - colour

The intense colours in my vase this week come from nasturtiums, sweetpeas and a single glorious zinnia! Their beauty and love of life speak for themselves and need no further words from me! Enjoy!

(Not) in a vase on Monday!

The challenge this week, set by Cathy at  https://ramblinginthegarden.wordpress.com to celebrate five years of In a Vase on Monday, was to offer (Not) in a vase on Monday!  So here is my interpretation of that idea with one of my Plant Belles, which I tend to use for things I find and enjoy.  I weave bits and pieces through the metal ribs and keep them until they fall apart, or something even better turns up!  Lichen covered twigs, branches of larch with tiny cones, seed heads, twisted heather stems, anything and everything that has form and beauty.
