Sunshine walk

I think the whole of the UK has been enjoying a wonderful spell of sunny weather over the past week.  We have had some glorious days.  Hot sunshine but still a cool breeze.  Perfect for walking!

Yesterday the dogs and I walked along the coastal boundaries of the two links golf courses of Kilspindie and Craigielaw, just outside Aberlady, and enjoyed great views across to Edinburgh, a group of seals basking in the sun, sea thrift and birdsfoot trefoil, and shell strewn beaches.  It is always a source of wonderment to me that I can be standing on a lovely beach, looking at nearby Edinburgh.  This is such a great part of the world to live.  We have it all!!

Early morning light

There have been some cracking early morning skies this week.  The sunrise has generated a strong rose gold light which has been picked up not only in the clouds but also through the silver-white grasses around the edge of the golf course. I always marvel at the clouds.  Constantly changing, formations that have never been seen before, never to be seen again.

(Not) in a vase on Monday!

The challenge this week, set by Cathy at  https://ramblinginthegarden.wordpress.com to celebrate five years of In a Vase on Monday, was to offer (Not) in a vase on Monday!  So here is my interpretation of that idea with one of my Plant Belles, which I tend to use for things I find and enjoy.  I weave bits and pieces through the metal ribs and keep them until they fall apart, or something even better turns up!  Lichen covered twigs, branches of larch with tiny cones, seed heads, twisted heather stems, anything and everything that has form and beauty.
