For a new year

I think that more than ever before, certainly in my lifetime of 66 years, we go into a new year with a sense of trepidation.  2016 has not been a happy year for this world.  So many people lost;  famous faces but an even greater number of unknown, but equally precious souls.  Lost to the world through violence, ignorance and every kind of wrongdoing you can think of.  Goodness knows what 2017 will bring, with such narcissistic personalities at the helm and in action. One thing you can be sure of - we are all in it together, so I hope that recognition of truth and doing the right thing will prevail, and this time next year we will be feeling rather more at peace than I think we do at the moment.  Hope springs eternal!

Let's start the new year with this!
Deep peace I breathe into you,
O weariness, here:
O ache, here!
Deep peace, a soft white dove to you;
Deep peace, a quiet rain to you;
Deep peace, an ebbing wave to you!
Deep peace, red wind of the east from you;
Deep peace, grey wind of the west to you;
Deep peace, dark wind of the north from you;
Deep peace, blue wind of the south to you!
Deep peace, pure red of the flame to you;
Deep peace, pure white of the moon to you;
Deep peace, pure green of the grass to you;
Deep peace, pure brown of the earth to you;
Deep peace, pure grey of the dew to you,
Deep peace, pure blue of the sky to you!
Deep peace of the running wave to you,
Deep peace of the flowing air to you,
Deep peace of the quiet earth to you,
Deep peace of the sleeping stones to you!
Deep peace of the Yellow Shepherd to you,
Deep peace of the Wandering Shepherdess to you,
Deep peace of the Flock of Stars to you,
Deep peace from the Son of Peace to you,
Deep peace from the heart of Mary to you,
And from Briget of the Mantle
Deep peace, deep peace!
And with the kindness too of the Haughty Father
Peace!
In the name of the Three who are One,
Peace! And by the will of the King of the Elements,
Peace! Peace!

HAPPY NEW YEAR from the running wave

  1. And a very happy, peaceful and prosperous New Year to you, too.
    I shall be wearing blinkers for much of the time next year in an attempt to not see the calamities forced upon us by morons, sadists and ignorant, brain-dead maniacs.

    1. There is certainly a lot of it about, sadly. Anyway, lots of fireworks popping off in this part of the world, as we welcome the new year. I hope that it brings many blessings despite everything else that might get thrown at us! Best wishes A

    1. Thanks Antonia! I hope you and your family have had a happy time over Christmas and New Year, and that 2017 brings all good things to you. We do live in uncertain times, but I have to say that walking in the countryside and the constancy of the waves never fails to soothe and bring some peace. I hope the blog can reflect that this year! A x

In a vase on Monday - colour

The intense colours in my vase this week come from nasturtiums, sweetpeas and a single glorious zinnia! Their beauty and love of life speak for themselves and need no further words from me! Enjoy!

Possibly the last post and a sizzlingly hot vase on Monday

The border in our tiny garden is in an in-between phase at the moment and not very colourful, but elsewhere there are pops of high summer colour and I have brought them together in my vase today. The running wave uses Blogger as it's vehicle and they are changing the way a post is created but unfortunately I cannot make the new format work. I can't progress beyond the title! I cannot navigate to the main body of the post to create text. The new template has no prompts for adding photos, weblinks, to format the text, change font etc. It may be my old MacBook that's as fault but I can't do anything about that!! Are any other IAVOM bloggers who use Blogger having the same problems? I have tried, three times, to contact Blogger through their 'Help' prompt and received no feedback or contact whatsoever. This post is using the old 'Legacy' format, which no longer permits any kind of formatting of text, and so after four attempts I have finally manage...

Early morning light

There have been some cracking early morning skies this week.  The sunrise has generated a strong rose gold light which has been picked up not only in the clouds but also through the silver-white grasses around the edge of the golf course. I always marvel at the clouds.  Constantly changing, formations that have never been seen before, never to be seen again.
