I am not one of those people who go around photographing the food on their plate - at least, not very often. I have been known to snap the odd snap when I have been lucky enough to be in a fashionable restaurant. But I couldn't help admiring the colour of the yolk in my boiled egg at breakfast. The chicken who laid this egg lives on the farm just behind our cottage. No food miles involved here, and the richest orange yolk I have ever seen!
Welcome to the running wave, which I set up as a vehicle for my photographs, with some observational chat and occasionally a little writing. I hope you enjoy the things I enjoy, sharing my walks with Tilly and Ted, and other excursions I have from time to time.
Cor! I bet that was the tastiest egg you've had in a long while. Our village Farm Shop sells beautiful free range eggs which have deep coloured yolks and brown shells, just like that - they charge £1.30 for half a dozen. But I buy mine straight from the farm where they charge £1.60 for a dozen. No-brainer! Two of those eggs, poached, on buttered toast, seasoned with salt and freshly ground black pepper makes The Best breakfast!
