Sea and sand

I thought this holiday couldn't get any better, but it just did.  As I have been putting together some photos of the seas around Colonsay (therunningwave couldn't possibly visit here without posting photos of waves) Radio 3 played Four Sea interludes from Peter Grimes (Dawn) Benjamin Britten.  The timing could not have been more perfect.  I love that piece of music.  It weaves a magic, and this island and its fabulous beaches and seas have certainly woven their magic over us.

Early morning light

There have been some cracking early morning skies this week.  The sunrise has generated a strong rose gold light which has been picked up not only in the clouds but also through the silver-white grasses around the edge of the golf course. I always marvel at the clouds.  Constantly changing, formations that have never been seen before, never to be seen again.

(Not) in a vase on Monday!

The challenge this week, set by Cathy at  https://ramblinginthegarden.wordpress.com to celebrate five years of In a Vase on Monday, was to offer (Not) in a vase on Monday!  So here is my interpretation of that idea with one of my Plant Belles, which I tend to use for things I find and enjoy.  I weave bits and pieces through the metal ribs and keep them until they fall apart, or something even better turns up!  Lichen covered twigs, branches of larch with tiny cones, seed heads, twisted heather stems, anything and everything that has form and beauty.
