The walking group struck out along a few Lammermuir hill tracks today. It was raining, and we had water running down our cheeks and off the end of our noses. There was a cold wind blowing down the across the moor, and visibility was poor. But, what the heck! It was wonderful! The ling is in bloom and at its peak. It smelt delicious - just like taking the lid off a jar of heather honey. The purple hills were glorious, the sun shone in pools across the landscape, and there was a rainbow - it was all just too good! Why would you want to be anywhere else!
It rained for most of our walk, but cleared as we came down off the moor. A wonderful morning, despite the weather!
