I think I have mentioned it here before, that East Lothian Council do a very good job with their planting on roundabouts, verges and other municipal places. To prove my point, here are the flowers adorning a roundabout just outside Haddington. I think the flowers are a little past their best now, but there is still lots of colour to enjoy.
Welcome to the running wave, which I set up as a vehicle for my photographs, with some observational chat and occasionally a little writing. I hope you enjoy the things I enjoy, sharing my walks with Tilly and Ted, and other excursions I have from time to time.
Fantastic. Do you know about the Plantlife Campaign and roadside verges? Have a google. You should collect some seeds when it's seed time and try them in your garden. So colourful.
ReplyDeleteYes, I am a keen member of Plantlife, and the roadside verge campaign in particular! Last year I harangued our local authority about the cutting of the verges, which was beyond mindless, and I think (not holding my breathe) they seem a little less aggressive this year. I've got some healthy goat's beard plants coming along too, so I am pleased about that! They are my favourite seed heads! Thank you for your message, always appreciated. A
