I love colour. I love soft colours, bright colours, clashing colours, colours in muted tones - all of it. But I have to admit to being ambivalent about the screamingly yellow fields of oilseed rape, which adorn our fields at this time of the year. On a bright sunny day, with a searing blue sky overhead, it is quite painful to look at a oilseed rape field at close quarters, even though the colour combination is enough to knock your socks off.
I think I like to see these garish fields from a distance. This morning, grey and windy, there was a little weak sunshine to pick up the yellow of a couple of distant fields, and they definitely cheered the landscape up a bit.
The weather hasn't really got going today, and nor has Tilly. She's spent the entire day in her favourite armchair, dreaming of hares!
